A pretty looking bird. Too bad head was angled away from you. Very nice background and singing pose. Dave

    Luis:

Dave covered some of the most important points. It is usually most engaging to have the birds head angled towards us a bit. The large out of focus branches in the foreground tend to distract us and stop the flow of our eyes into the image. If possible, a step or two to your left might have given you a better head angle and helped with the merge of the tail with the branch.

I would try to tone down the brightness of the background, as our eyes are drawn to areas of brightness and high contrast, and away from the subject in this case.

I do think the bird could stand a bit more sharpening, esp. on the head/ eye region.

    Look forward to more.

    Cheers

    Randy

    Thanks for your comments.

It would be better to have the bird looking more to me, but this was the only "hole" through the tree branches I could find. I couldn't move anyway and it only stood still for a couple of seconds.
