Default d300 problem and seeking D300s?

    Any reviews on D300s ?
any change than D300 ? am planning to update with d300s as my d300 current one lost its fine focus a bit and become rough with 94k actuation's.

any good thing people notice bout d300s except video ?

since last few months using canon also of my friend and found a little difference that canon has very smooth image production where as nikon is a bit harsh over to fine smoothness.

I traded my D300 for a D300s. The af and noise at higher isos have been slightly improved. The media door has been improved in my opinion. Also, you can have a smart media card along with a cp flash card. You enter live view with a button on the back.

imo, thats the first person i have heard say the af has been improved over the d300s,
my friend has a d300s and the af seems the same to me as for the noise i found it to be slightly noiser and was told by nikon this was due to the senor having to handle with the hd video(not sure how true that is).
as for th door i dont like it as it doesnt lock like the d300,
    also it has
    720p / 24 fps HD video recording
    External stereo sound input
    Basic in-camera movie editing
Faster 7 fps continuous shooting (6 fps on the D300)
Dual CF and SD card slots (CF only on the D300)
    Quiet release mode
D3 style multi-controller on the camera rear
    Interactive settings display screen
Dedicated Live View button (LV is a drive mode on the D300)
    Dedicated Info button
Type C HDMI interface (Type A on the D300)
Auto and Extra High Active D-Lighting options
    Virtual horizon
    In-camera editing (RAW resizing)

    Hi Mital,
Looked at your NEF file, not sure what is "harsh"... Light is coming from the side, has created some shadows!!! looks normal to me. It has noise but not bad for ISO 640! Just to need to run some NR to clean up! (BTW you need to run NR for any camera). Here is a quick try with NX2, bird wasn't that sharp in the original so didn't want to crop tighter. sent you a PM too, check it out.

actually i was looking the image at 100% and to say "Harsh" was actually a rough edges and roughness all over the image instead the soft look.

being 640 iso i know there would be noise. i was looking at aspect of printing this. apply NR and making it for web no issues with any of my images you can see on AVian section.

perticularly in this session the entire session was a bit of out of focus or a bit of hazy roughness i found in the image.

if you look as is image in Capture NX at 100% view you dont seem to find the image proper focused or a bit sharp along with noise. instead what i see is a fuzziness and lost of details over the breast of the stilt or the back of the stilt.

anyways i am going to give another try with my another d300 body.
the one i had i sold out and getting new d300s next week as the one i had i found becoming little disturb with micro focusing.. iso performance was getting down after its 94k actuation's.

    Hi Mital,
Got it, didn't know you wanted to make prints, too noisy for large prints :( the lack of fine detail in the dark areas is because of coarse noise and chest area is a bit hot so not much you can do. Would stick to ISO <400 if you want to make large quality prints with fine detail (same with 7D), not an easy scene, white and black feathers, shadow and highlights!! You did your best :)
