    Hi guys,

I took this picture a couple of weeks ago, at the bird park. The bird's name in Indonesian is Kuntul.
I converted raw to tiff with DPP, then I post processed the image with PS Elements 6. Had to convert again from 16 bit to 8 bit. This is my first serious try with Elements 6. I cloned a portruding read leaf on the left side of the picture, and a bright white spot near the top right corner of the frame. I also darkened several leaves on the lower background to remove some bright reflections on the leaves.

    7D, 100-400L at 360mm, 1/640, f/7.1, Manual mode with auto iso at 1600.
    Critiques and comments please.
Thank you very much for looking,

Nice pose Bob, might darken the BG a bit to tone down the leaf to the right of the head. Also wish for more light on the face. Looking forward to more posts.

Hi Bob I like what your doing in Elements, has a nice feel. Might consider lightening the bird overall but particularly the head/neck area.... would also enhance the beautiful green lores !!

Pose wise just wish the birds head was parallel, just makes it look better !!! Fine image ... btw with Elements the main drawback is having to work in 8 bit only.

I too would like to see the bird's level raised a little to show off the lores and head/neck feathers. I love the feather detail and like the classic preening pose.
