These are lovely, Dan. Really like the blue of the wing echoed in the blue sky and the green of the speculum echoed in the grass. Pity about the bird at the back as without her there would be no overlap
the overlap doesn't matter at all--but in this rendition it has more emphasis than it should. What I believe you should do here is make that first bird the star attraction of the shot. The sky is also competing with the first bird for attention. If you do some cropping and selective tonal changes especially on the last three birds you might find that you can get this shot to pop more than it does here. ONE compositional element should have all other compositional elements subordinate to it. That one element(unit) would be the first bird.
Wonderful timing and beautifully captured. As already mentioned the only nit is the overlapping of the back two teals. Still a wonderful and very appealing image. Thanks foir sharing.
