Hope you don't mind my joining the party, here's my first OOTB post. Did this one a few years back for my Dad's birthday, one of my personal favorites.

    Mike,
Print that on canvas! IMO perfect species for an Oil Paint Filter.
I have mixed emotions about the leaves in front of the Tri-Color's neck.

As a digital creation, I would like to see on with out them.

Beautiful composition. Love the painting effect. Agree with James on those leaves.

Mike, Big Welcome to OOTB. Fantastic first post. I love the swirled texture of the BG. Did you use Alien Skin's Snap Art? I really like the color palette and the painterly feel to the image.:)

Hey Mike, I love the oil painting look and also love the neck leaves :) Looks as if you had a stunning bird to work with. I only wish that the head were turned a bit more towards you. I too am curious as to what you used to create it.

Lovely image, Mike! Welcome to OOTB! I also noticed the HA being just a bit off of center but I really like the overall effect of the oil painting and the way it looks like it's coming right out of the jungle at us. Very cool effect!

Thanks everyone for the comments and the big welcome to the OOTB. Denise is on the money... I used Snap Art to create this image as I really liked the level of control it gives. I purposefully left the leaves on the neck more defined as I wanted some hint of the actual foliage.

Gorgeous digital painting, Mike. Congrats for having the courage to take the plunge. I just joined today and haven't plucked up the necessary to dip my toe in the water:) KB
