Great setup, Glenn. The perch looks very nice and the bird poses on it with an nice head turn.
The background has some nice colors in it.

Glenn, beautiful perch and pose. Loved the DOF and the BG. Exposure is perfect. Nice cloudy-day feel to it.

Only thing bothering me a bit( just a bit) is that the head looks a tad oversharpened.

Hi Glenn, I like this very much. You have provided us with a nice side view of the bird with a good head angle. The perch is pleasing and adds interest in my opinion. The background is complementary to the bird. I think your exposure and sharpness is spot on. Over all just about perfect in my book. Thanks for sharing.

I would say it's darn near perfect Glenn...excellent perch, pose, lighting and background.

The only thing I wish for is a bit more DOF to include the back 3rd of the body and the tail as the birds appearance is that of almost being parallel to you but not quite. (I realize it's not parallel but it is more so than not).

Would stopping down more have ruined the OOF characteristics of the background?

Great image Glenn! I didn't realize how big their feet are. I like the perch, BG and pose in this image.
