Not sure if it it a successful shot. Needs more separation of the pistils and maybe more DOF??
    Comments Appreciated.

Jackie, the anthers and pistil really pop. I love the colors against the soft white texture of the petals. Very nice composition and the lighting looks just right to me!:)

Hi Jackie I think you nailed the dof, the part that needs to be is covered while giving you a pleasing bg The shown texture in the whites is very pleasing !!!

btw if you want to go wild with these indoor flowers might want to try shooting through a glass with clear Vaseline to blur parts of the image, sort of gives a Lensbaby effect on steroids !!!

I like the composition, orange really pop against whites and very sharp. Very nice one!

Thanks for the comments everyone, it is too cold to shoot birds so I am starting with flowers. I guess it is anther not antler (Thks Julie):o Al I will give your suggestion a try.

I agree with the above comments. This is spot on. Needs a nice large size print and a wall.

Hi Jackie, Doing a great job on your flower images.IMO this image is handled very skillfully.Nice placement of the anthers with good lighting and detail. There is just enough detail in the backround whites to give definition but not be intrusive. Well done!

Nicely done, Jackie. Beautiful colors and detail. I like the lighting and the dof - just a hint of detail in the white bg. Frame it!
