Coyote prowling the brush line at dusk. Sun had already set behind the mountains, light was coming from reflected clouds. 40D, 400DO, f6.3, 1/100s, ISO 1000, +1/3 EC, removed a few dark, OOF mullein stalks from FG, handheld, saved at 60% quality for sizing, full frame.

Love the eye contact and the color of the surrounding foilage. Looks like it could use just a slight rotation.

All round beautiful image Steve- wish to see one in the flesh. Particularly like the eyes, pose looks like a show dog waiting to trot into the ring. Would not have noticed the rotation but for the earlier comments.

 Agree with all; there is a sbustantial trunk above the Coyote's back that suggests an unnatural lean to the right. Otherwise, lovely image. I like the sharp Coyote against the blurred bkgrnd.
    Cheers, Jay

Hi Steve. I really like the soft light and the muted colors. Nice comp, the habitat works well here, and I like the head angle with the coyote looking at something over your left shoulder rather than directly at you. Well done.

Fine as is. The earth is not flat and nature is not straight. Great color and expression.

Hi Steve, the coyote blends in nicely with the surrounding foliage. Good eye contact, and Im glad you left the grasses around him. I would however remove the two blades of grass coming out of his back.

Thanks for the look Stuart. I got a few different versions of this one including some with those blades of grass removed. I left them in this one to give a feel of in between the grass rather than just in front or behind. Might need more stalks to get that feel.
