    Bears Rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried something different after getting many images at higher shutter-speeds. I shot heavy, and only when the bear was as close to holding still as possible. I knew going forward I would not get many tack sharp images of the bear at 1/15, as his head was constantly moving to and fro scanning the water for salmon headed upstream. You have to be willing to take chances, and push limits. It is not about the images that do not work, only the ones that do. The worst that could happen is you end up deleting a bunch of images.

Like the details in the bear and the motion in the water.

I like the use of unconventional tactics for this image. Comp and shutter speed make this stand out. TFS

I love this treatment, Chas, and it worked so well. Keep the bears coming!

Chas, I am going to take the opposite tack - it bothers my eyes to look at the image because there is no sharp spot for me to start from.

    No worries mate-lol

My eye flows from left to right along with the river, before settling on the bear whose right looking glance continues the image flow, along with the river to the right.
Sometimes it is not about where you start, but where you end ;)

    Best,

    Chs

You see blur water many times with landscapes, this is awesome to combine an animal, at little landscape and blurred water in same image.
