    Saw this one hopping around in some bushes near a pile of trimmed branches. A few other birds had landed on this branch so I stood around waiting on the chance that he would hop up there too. Not a very dynamic photo but I don't have many of them in the open and I liked the colors. Wish the dark spot wasn't behind the branch. 40D, 400DO + 2xTC, f10, 1/1600s, ISO 800, -1 EC, monopod, cropped a bit all around.

    Steve, I like the HA and eye contact. Colors look good on bird and BG. You might tone the whites and perch down a bit.:)

    Hi Steve. Good head angle and I like the comp with the bird looking out of the frame to the left. Nice background too - I wouldn't have noticed the the dark area behind the bird if you hadn't mentioned it. Maybe it's the way the light is hitting the bird, but you might consider desaturating the red eye a little. :)
