It doesn't come more perfectly exposed and tack sharp, does it?! There isn't a detail missing, is there?

    Magnificant!

    Tripod or HH?

Super detail in the soft light. I like the diagonal of the yellow elements. The talon puncturing the herring demonstrates the power of the grip well. Removing the small dark OOF area extending from the eagle's head may be an option as it is the only OOF element.

    Tony,

I reposted the image w/o dark area...must have hit the brush before saving or something as it was not in the image.

Awesome capture, slicing the fish in flight, sharp and well exposed what else can you ask for?

    Congrats

OMG, just feel the pain by those talons. Killer image. Perfectly exposed and details are simply stunning.

Hi Chas, Wonderful image full of power and grace. The only thing that takes away from it a little for me is that I can tell from looking at the herrings eye that he has been dead and frozen, Still an amazing capture.

Nicely done Chas, agree about the dead herring, wish it was a little fresher! Not sure if you left them in for effect, but the spots around the bottom talon detract a bit for me. Apart from that great capture, I can almost feel the power of the beak ripping into the fish.
