Hi Don - lots to like here - lovely fine feather detail, Good HA and eye contact and nice pose.
Would clone out 1 of the catchlights in the eye, Id be tempted to set a white point, think the whites could go that tad whiter.
A little more space up front would move the eye out of the centre of the frame - add a little NR on the background and your good to go.
Like this a lot - Big Congrats :)

Thks Lance, I'm currently working on the whites, however i need to read up on the clone feature, as i'm new to photoshop,, and trying to learn these tools. Anyone care to share a tutorial for the cloning of the catch light??
    TIA

Like this shot Don, I would lighten and sharpen the eye a bit too. Well done with the exposure.

Good details and love the white against dark BG! A bit more space on left would be nice.

Hey Don, Freezing are @#$ off at Gatorland was worth for images like this:D
I took all of the other suggestions which I agreed with and did a few extra little things like lighten the eye and some selective sharpening on it plus added a bit more saturation to the lore around the eye. So in total I reset the white point and added some light to the midtones. I used a small S curve to add I touch more contrast and brighten the green around the eye and the eye itself. Ran noise reduction on the BG added canvas to the right and to top it selectively sharpen the eye.

Lovely image. Beautifully sharp eye and great colors against the dark bg. Nice details in the whites. Good suggestions above, and repost puts it over the top.
