It look a bit soft to me around the eye. I like the pose though and the OOF background works well.

ISO1600, interesting Tom;)
I like the pose and ruffled throat feathers which kind of echo his calling and different to the norm. You have been clever in not over shapening it, as coupled with the high ISO it would have given you issues I fear. Is there any more room above, as perhaps a portrait crop might suit, based on the pose as the OOF branch isn't really working for me. I quite like the 'dappled' BG, but be careful with the white areas.

Very nice photo. I like the nice moment well captured. BG and habitat look very good to me and only negative is the bit of hidden tail. Dave
Hi Tom, Really nice pose and detail on the Robin. I think you could make the image stronger if you lighten the eye and idi some selective sharpening on it and i would also tone down the BG especially the white areas behind the Robin

Love the singing pose with ruffled throat feathers, Tom. Looks to have a greenish cast - how does this version look?

Thanks for your comments Tony and your edit. The Robin was shot actually within the tree and therefore I feel that my edit is more correct. If it had been more to the outside of the tree and therefore in clearer light I would say that the tones on your edit would be more representative. A case of personal taste really.
