    1/3200 @ f8, -2/3 exp comp in AV mode at ISO 500

    Canon 40D, 300mm 4L IS and 1.4 extender

    First post in a long while...this is from last November in Quebec. I brought the blue background down a few points in saturation, and selectively used noise reduction on background and dark areas of bird, selective sharpening on bird as well.

    I really like the birds with the rusty staining on the plumage, I think it adds character to them.

    Good calling pose, John. Good detail in the plumage and blue sky sets it off well. Selective sharpening amount/radius on head/bill could be backed off a little I think.

    Great capture John, head is ultra sharp, but doesn't bother me in the least. Great exposure and detail in this image with no motion blur. Well done!
