Great wing pose, exposure and light. The square works very well for me here.
It looks a bit soft, maybe another round of USM might help.
    Is this a crop?

No crop the 600 can be too close at times to be honest.

A lovely pose of a great raptor. Still battling to get used to sharpened images - the primaries on the right wing seems over sharpened to smooth on my monitor, but it could be the monitor.

I like the angle, eye contact and dangling feet. Did you run NR on the bird? There seems to be a lack of fine details.

Nice pose and exosure but detail has been softend most likely as a result of excessive NR.

I went back over the original file and it's pretty much same as one posted so I don't know why detail is gone from edges even in the raw file

Thanks for checking, if the RAW is soft too, most likely focus is not good.

    Nice shot anyway. TFS

The Eagle was almost too close and I'm going to go out on the limb and say since the 600 DOF is so shallow I'm going to guess that the fore wing and back wing was just beyond the focus area which I was locked on the eagles head. The sequence of shots his wing tip where out of the frame when extended. That was the best shot of the entire Eagle I got in a series of about 12 shots.

Will be out of dof at that distance!!! won't get the wings but mystery is head and body feathers are soft too, maybe more sharpening? or maybe just too much jpeg compressions. helps if can post a 100% crop of the sharpest area.
