    I greatly prefer avian photography under the soft lighting of overcast skies, for a number of reasons. One is that the position of the light source (the sun) isn't nearly as important as when the clouds disappear. Thats what happened here, and I ended up with the sun coming from the left, and the bird would not position himself properly, and to position myself correctly I would be in Elm Lake, swimming with the gators. Anyway, the awkward lighting seemed to add something, especially to the eye.

    Love the subtle use of the filter and the light in the eye. Nice curve of the neck too.

    Bill, I think the light in the eye is super. The curved neck is nice. The bird has beautiful details.:)
