    Spruce cone.
    EOS 7D, EF 3.5/180L, tripod
    1/13, f13, ISO 100

I found this cone but didn't like the BG so I placed it 2 meters away from it's original position.
I exposed to the right just to not blow out the highlights as I wanted really white snow and no noise in the cone.

What do you think? Would a tighter crop be better?

My preference would be for a tighter crop, Markus. The foreground has nice detail, but I think there is too much BG IMHO.

Here is a vertical of the same cone. What do you think is better?

After viewing both I think I like the original post better. Very simple image with very good detail on the cone and FG snow.

Lovely details on the cone. I like its angle. I do think a crop would emphasize the cone.

I took the liberty of cropping the second image and brightening it up a bit. What do you think? :)

    I like Anita's crop!
I like the color contrast between the cone and the white snow.:)
