Every year I head over to Iowa to photograph Bald Eagles along the Mississippi River. It is a great place to see them and if the ice conditions are good, they will come in fairly close to the shore to fish (they are not hand fed). Last winter due to the cold and good ice, we had one really good weekend - one of the best in 7 years of going. This year the conditions have not been good so I have not made it over, so this is one from last January.
Pretty good sharpness, but I'd probably do an additional sharpening pass. Whites look good, but the darks could stand a little lightening. Near wing position could be a little better. Although unconventional, I like the placement of the bird in the right of the frame. I just wish the splash wasn't clipped.
