I liked the different color BG (frozen lake) on this one compared to most shots of these that I get. 20D, 400DO + 1.4xTC, f6.3, 1/320s, ISO 400, -1/3 EC, tripod, cropped a bit all around, removed tip off a bright, OOF grass stalk.

Hi Steve , Nice HA looking over his shoulder and BG and I also like the perch. Maybe some fill flash to pull detail out of the blacks that are in shadow.

Hi Steve, good work on the blacks, and a good look back pose too. I like the light and sharpness in this, and he pops nicely from the BG. Well captured.

Nice pose, perch, comp. I agree some of the blacks - especially lower part of the belly - could have benefitted from some fill. Only about a month to go before they start showing up here!!
