    Took this today, was taking images of geese when he dropped in. took a quick shot- hand held. focus not as wanted, same with exposure. wanted better HA also. Other than that got to excited, need to get out more.
    D2xs 80-400mm vr at 330mm, 1/160sec at f/7.1 iso 400 matrix metering, wb cloudy, AP. C/C wanted and appreciated.

    Interesting pose, nice BG, and striking colors. Are the reds oversaturated, or did they look that way on the bird?

    Hi Craig - agree with your self critique - the reds do look a little hot with a lack of detail, might try desaturating them just a tad. Histogram confirms the reds are clipped.
    Just watch your shutter speed - general rule of thumb is to be at 1 over the focal length to ensure sharp images.
    Looking forward to seeing more :)

    Hi Craig, your image looks like I felt last night after celebrating my Valentine's Day b-day drinking Pisco Sours at a restaurant in Lima, Peru. I can relate the one eye being at half-mast :o.

    Really Great pose and I hope the red de-sat salvages this one for you. RWBB are near the top of my wishlist.
