    Default Horned Lark

On an absurdly cold day in January I found a decent flock of Horned Larks near the nine-gun battery and north beach on Sandy Hook (New Jersey). With 400mm, I need to get pretty close, so I got onto my stomach and slid slowly along the ground for quite awhile. After awhile I was finally close enough and the birds did not flush. This pale male stood at attention for me. The flock was foraging tightly together, so it was tough to get one by itself. If you look closely at the bottom right hand corner, there is actually another bird blurred away from the shallow DOF. I love these birds.

Sharpness and angle look good. I might increase saturation and wold crop quite a bit off the bottom and remove the OOF bird since I find it distracting. You could try to get more details in the blacks.

Nice detail and a good, low angle. Agree with Axel on taking some off the bottom (maybe most of the OOF stuff). And yes, they are nice little birds.
