These guys are just beautiful to watch. I managed to get this image in Costa while staying at Villa Lapas near the town of Jaco.

I liked the perch, background and the fact that he was eating something, and the full view of the tail. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

PS... If Greg Basco happens to see this, give a special thanks to Jose on this one:)

Beautiful bird, good eye contact, light, BG and the 'snack' adds to it. Is this a large crop? I'm wondering because of the way the wing plumage looks.

Supurb image. Notwithstanding the excellence of the subject, I also like the way the background carries sufficient information to tell a small story of the environment.

Techs look good and the background looks natural. You might try to take out the plant growing from the top of his head. I like the comp -- especialy that loong tail

Wonderful picture Keith. I also find the light very pleasing, the BG is fine to me, but I enjoy more seen the clearness you got on the eye. Also I want to mention the nice tail this bird has.

Harshad, its latin name is Eumomota superciliosa, Nicaragua national bird, but it is very common in the central and northern part of Costa Rica.

Keith, beautiful shot of this guy. I will indeed thank Jose for you. Maybe we'll get a good look at this guy again in April.

Juan Carlos, thanks for the ID -- you saved me some work!

    Cheers,
    Greg
