    Default Sandhill Crane

    Photographed 12/2009

    Nikkor 600MM F4 AFS VR
    F8 1/1250

I do not like to remove any of the small things on the water, which some might think distracting. For me, it just how things are and it complements the whole photograph, by just indicating how natural things are.

this looks like ice skating! love the wing position and sharpness, I have mixed feelings about the debris on the ice, but it is your photo and your choice. TFS

Awesome wing position Doc. Wonderful capture of the pose...I know that Crane. It looks like an overcast day at Bosque and you were still able to get the feather details. Nicely done.

Nice detail and pose of a crane trying to pick up speed for take off. Image might benefit from a small boost of saturation and contrast.

Lovely running take off posture, and good to see the upturned wings. Overall sharp, and I would maybe darken the BG a tad and run some NR on the BG too.
