Default Half Dome from Olmstead Point

Late June, 2008. I was driving through Yosemite NP on my way back to San Francisco. I stopped briefly at Olmstead Point and snapped this photo with my iphone. The smoke from the forest fires created this blue haze over Half Dome. I brought this image into Lightroom and adjusted the black and white points, and bumped up the clarity and vibrance. No crop-this is full frame. In PS Elements I applied the rough pastel filter and resized it for the web. The original had a lot of noise, but I think that it enhances the painting effect.

Julie, I love Half-Dome and this view is a treat so thank you for that. The people on the side add some interest. I might run NR on the BG if it were mine. Nicely done.:)

Thanks Denise. I love Yosemite as well.
I have Lightroom and Elements. Can I run NR in the BG with these programs? I'm not sure how to do that.

Julie I think it is quite a nice comp. There is a whole section on NR in the Educational Resources section. I think NR is best done using a plug-in. Ran some NR and took out what I thought was some cyan cast.

    Interesting image and application.

For a camera shot it appears to be good. Any way you can get the image! :D

Thanks for looking and commenting everyone. :)

Jackie, I like how you took out the noise. Your repost looks sharper too. I distinctly remember that the sky was full of smoke and it really was that color. I will check out the education section for the NR tips. I have been thinking of buying Nik Complete Collection for Lightroom.
