This hen Ring-necked Duck was photographed from a blind on a small woodland pond last spring in northern Minnesota. 40D, 500 f/4 + 1.4X, 1/160, f/5.6, ISO 400. I removed part of an OOF duck from the LLC. Comments are welcome.

Oh I love this one Steve. Gorgeous lighting, wonderful pose and excellent detail. I like how the light is hitting the water so softly giving the whole image a great felling. Over the top for me !!!!
Steve I like the low angle sharp focus and eye contact. The water is nice too as Judy mentioned but I'm just curious about how the water behind the ducks head is divided almost equally into two apparently distinct patterns.
The water variations really makes this capture work and, from the sounds of it, you worked hard for it. You have a great angle on the duck and the light was gorgeous.
