    Default Florida Snow(y)

Cerainly feels chilly enough outside to have some of that white stuff, but this is the only Florida Snowy I want to be around! Taken at Gatorland 2/5/2010 @ 2:25pm (yes, you can shoot white birds in the middle of the day).

Like the wispy clouds and wispy tail. Detail and sharpness are nice.
I would maybe add some canvas to the top as crop seems to tight.

    Mike,
I like the crop as is. The detail in the whites is beautifully done and I love the "bird on a stick" pose for the snowy since most of the time we see them on the flats or in the water. Composition is good as well. I looked carefully at its lores to see if it had the "high color" yet. I'll see you soon at Gatorland.

something about this just works. yes - not the perfect head angle. yes - high up angle to bird. but the clouds, exposure, colours all combine nicely to form a pleasing image. and sometimes that is enough - that an image be pleasing without ripping all the technicals to shreds.

Thanks for the comments gang! Just FYI, there is no crop, that's a full frame image.

Van - Snowies aren't quite ready yet, be another couple of weeks.

There is a painterly quality to this photo....proof you don't always have to have the perfect HA & angle.
