Hello My name is Erica and I am 22 years old . I am from Indiana . I got my first camera when I was 11 years old . It was a Minolta 7000 and a gift from my dad . I am now using a Canon EOS Rebel XSi 450D. My Husbands name is Aaron and he is a Soldier in the US Army . I can never write in a profile about me without mentioning him , Because I would not be who I am if he was not in my life . Right now there is 8 inches of snow outside , I am a bit of a homebody so lucky for me there is a lot of bird activity outside of my back window . The birds that are usually around are Alot of finches , a few White Breasted Nuthatches , Downy woodpeckers , pileated woodpecker , Cardinals , blackcap chickadee , Baltimore Oriole , thats just naming a few . The Pileated Woodpecker is usually hanging out on the other side of the horse pasture so its hard getting good pictures of him unless I try to sneak closer to him . I still have not got a picture of him I am happy with . Thanks for reading and Im looking forward to getting to know all of you .
Greetngs from Ohio and welcome. You mention shooting mostly around home and your efforts on photographing the Pileated Wodpecker. I recently bought an E book by Alan Murphy that has a wealth of information about getting close to and using blinds to photograph birds. I mention this because of the detail it goes into. Just google Alan Murphy and check out his website.
