    I was stalking prey this cold morning but struck out with my fine-feathered friends except for this first-time find. I had never seen a Clapper Rail before (they are pretty scarce here). So, I took what turned out to be a "record shot" for me; I know it hardly qualifies for posting, but he wouldn't come out of his hiding place. I cropped the image extensively (probably over 90%) and sharpened it in LR2 . . . no other adjustments.

    Hi Wendell - record shots are good - they tend to remind you of what you can try to do better next time.
    We have similar types of Rails over here- Patience and LUCK play a big part in getting a keeper with these guys - IMHO!
