Welcome Melvin, You did a superb job of capturing the peak of the action. The postion of the fish and the bird's head and wings could not be better. Some of the highlights looks blown. It is a shame that you did not have better light to work with.

    Later and love, artie

Great action. Did you have to lighten the bird a good bit? It looks a little washed out to me.

Great action capture! You really nailed the right moment. The harsh light just wasn't your friend in this image. The whites are a bit cooked.

Great timing, Melvin. The splash and wing position make a great angled composition.

Thank you all for your comments - as Art said, the light could have been better, see my next submission! Jim, the lighting was dull and overcast. I will have to revise my preparation of the image for submitting, as the original does not look 'washed out' and there is detail in all the highlights - sorry about that. There is a huge element of LUCK in the positioning of the wings, head etc - for every image like this there are many where the wings cover the head or the bird turns away from you or the boat pitches and you lose focus at the critical moment. Anyway it is all great fun!
    Thanks again, Melvin
