This is the result of our second round of snow storms in the Washington, DC area recently. This storm dumped between 20" and 30" inches on us and broke off some limbs on the dogwood tree featured in the left foreground of this image.
Unfortunately, we are expecting another 16"-20" starting this afternoon - who knows what additional damage that will cause?

Like this image, but wonder what it would look like a little to the right to remove the fence, if possible. But this is a great image as is.
I know your current winter plight and also that DC isn't as prepared as some snow belt areas to get rid of it. Keep warm and enjoy the quality light. You have a chance of a lifetime to get some good winter images, as you did here. Just leave the driving to those who don't know how. It's not worth it in this kind of weather.
I'm so sorry you're getting slammed with snow, Bud, but I sure am glad it isn't happening to me! I've had enough of the white powdery stuff for now! Another truly phenomenal b&w image - I'm going to have to take my Topaz out and run some b&w's through it - you've really inspired me with these images.
The lighting on the shed/barn is wonderful - really conveys the sunshine through all that snow. I think the comp would be stronger without that smaller tree disecting the branch of the dogwood but what can you do? It's fabulous either way.
Bud, I really like the winter snow scenes you've done nd this one is another beauty. I love the tonal range of the B&W and the tree branches covered in snow look great.
Thanks to all for your comments. The Topaz filter I used in addition to the b&w conversion was the "feature enhancement" one - subtle but effective on the shed details and the limbs of the trees.
Jules, what looks like a "little tree" is in fact the broken off end of the horizontal limb of the dogwood tree - that was one of the consequence of the last big snow.
Sad to report that the snow has started up again and we are expecting more than 10 inches - yikes!
