    Default Coopers hawk in flight

taken earlier today. I came upon a great spot for viewing these magnificent birds and this one was perched in the open and finally took flight. cropped about 50% and some selective sharpening. (might have to go back and redo some of that) Let me know what you think. Thanks.

    Hi Peter,

I don't think you could have hoped for a better sky. It's a really nice backdrop for this in flight shot. Excellent technicals as far as I can see. Good comp too. Nice work.

Excellent looking sky creating a very cool BG! The wing up position is ideal, but too bad none of the light made its way directly onto it! I also wish the hawk hadn't already passed you as you pressed the shutter button for this image.

Wing position, light and BG look good, I only wish the bird were angled toward you and the angle were less steep.

I like the sky BG and wing position. Agree that it'd be nice to have the bird flying towards you. Would also move the bird more to the left of the frame.

Thanks for the comments, I too wish i could have snapped the shutter sooner or had got the frame sooner but only working with less than 3fps is VERY limiting haha. I also wish there was some better light on the hawk to compliment the BG and to allow the bird to pop a bit more. And I would have very much liked to have gotten the bird flying towards me. maybe soon enough
