Pretty nice image of a bird on a stick! I like how the stick isn't straight, as I think the bend helps some. The details on the bird look very sharp.

The exposure and the sharpness is some of the best I've seen. Good work.:D

Not the best position in relation to bird and perch but a nice shot nonetheless.
Good feather detail but i wish for a little more saturation overall.

Excellent sharpness. I like the pose, comp, diagonal stick, and background. Well done.

Perfect head angle for the pose, and nice details throughout. The perch is decent except for the torn areas.

I agree with all of that! :D I would only suggest brightening the bird and part of the perch (and maybe cloning out the little torn spots). The background seems fine to me as it is.

Thank you very much to everyone your comments and critiques are well received.
David I quite like the re-worked image, in fact the original was similar but the yellow band was over -exposed I fixed this in curves in Adobe RAW, the Recovery slider couldn't quite fix it, then I felt i did not have enough of a balance between the bird and the back ground - it was a little too contrasting but you seen to have fixed it. Regards fixing the perch - I should have done that you will see on someof my recent submissions I have fixed bits her and there but I sometimes make things worse rather than better with my cloning skills!

Very nice image. David's repost is an improvement IMO. Here is a vertical version with some slight levels and colours adjustment.
Would love to hear what people think.
    Cheers,

    Ofer

Pleased you like it Jonathan! ;)
I did adjust levels a bit, reduced brightness and boosted contrast and colour saturation.
    Cheers,

    Ofer
