This Sandhill Crane was photographed at Vierra Wetlands last year. 40D, 500 f/4 +1.4X, 1/1000, f/6.3, ISO 400. I removed some OOF trees from the LRC to even out the overcast sky background. Comments are welcome.

I think this is a nice portrait. I don't really see anything to improve upon.

Maybe just a bit off the top?? Just my taste. Still a very simple, outstanding image.

    Steve:

Strong and simple composition, with strong sense of flow up the neck and out the bill. With that in mind, I might try a version with a bit more room to the right. Nice exposure, sharpness.

    Cheers

This is outstanding Steve. I love the simplicity of the image and the technical aspects such as sharpness, exposure, BG are spot on. The "action" pose adds a lot too.

I like it Steve, if anything, i might be inclined to trim a bit off the bottom.
Great detail, colour and subtle BG.

Lovely composition, everything else seems perfect here.

I agree with the positives above, and also would like to see this with more room to the right. With a slight head turn towards us, this would be killer (it still is excellent).
