Hi guys...I must confess I don't venture into OOTB often enough, purely because of time constraints :(

I'm looking for some open, honest feedback on this image. It is a combination of 2 different silhouette images posted in the avian and landscape forums previously here on BPN.

So - DOES THIS WORK FOR YOU?? :D:o

    Thanks!

Hi Morkel, good to see you here! This works for me. I really like the colors and the combination of silhouettes. You might consider cropping the RHS at the base of the large tree and adding a bit of canvas to the left. I feel that the smaller trees in the distance tend to pull the eye away from the main action. Very nice! Stop by more often if you can, I really like your work in the other forums - especially your unique HDR images!

Me likes, except if you sharpened, I'd take some of it out, beginning to get halos.

Agree with Fabs - it feels the tiniest bit oversharpened - almost unnaturally so. Love the colors and the silhouettes, though. Good stuff, Morkel!

Like the comp, colours, and primordial feel to this one. Just oversharpened as mentioned on the trees.

Very nice and dramatic composition, Morkel. I agree with Kerry on cropping a bit of RHS.TFS

thanks so much for the kind comments everyone!

here is a version with less sharpening - I always find it difficult to sharpen silhouettes appropriately, because you can't exactly make a selection and contract it to be within the edges - you have sharpen the darn edges themselves!

The other 'halos' are from the sun back-lighting the entire scene.

PS: I see I've pimped by signature up too much in size...sorry! :)
