    Default Whitefaced Duck

A whitefaced duck with a dirty face. Most times, the adults have dirty faces whilst the juvvies are pure white. The top half of the BG is a stone pitched wall. I liked the detail I captured in this. Taken at a birding spot in Pretoria last year. These ducks are completely wild and migrate here in our winter. Added canvas to the right for him to fly into.

Beautiful detail in the bird and wonderful action capture! Great placement in the comp, definitely like you added canvas. One small thing - the face does seem a tad too hot on my screen.

    Hi Stuart,

Boy, you've really stopped the action well here. The duck is very sharp and the background is beautiful. You have very nice light here and an excellent catchlight in the eye. You have added the canvas so that I cannot tell that you did. Well done lad!

Cool wing position, good sharpness, eye contact and BG. I only wish the bird were angled toward you a bit.
