    Default Frack'n Spider

A Fractalized Lynx Spider having a meal on a Rose.

One of my few complaints about Fractalius is the way the "last used" function is setup. Having that option is great but I wish it would also say which option was last used. What I'm trying to say is that I'm not 100% sure which preset I started with but I think it it was Glow 100. :)

Hehehehe, it looks like one of those carnivorous plants, very intense, I like it.

Love the colors here, Ken. I wish the outline of the spider was just a touch more defined. Did you try masking the details back in or did you want it to remain loosely abstract?

I tried all sorts of things, including reducing the opacity of the entire layer and bringing back the details on various parts of the image and kept coming back to the full Fractalius effect. I really like that there's just enough left to give an impression of a spider.

Very cool Ken! Love the depth of the image and I also agree that the spider is kind of lost.

I agree with you about the "last-used" thing, but I don't know how you would keep track of that trail of bread crumbs! I have saved several of my own presets that I indentify with a hint of where it started, like "glow detailed", and "critter glow", etc. I find that there are a few starting points that I like better than the included presets but at least I still know their parentage, so to speak. ;)

BTW, I also researched the idea of sharing presets, but the way the software is written it isn't possible. Seems they store your presets in hex code in the registry, so you can't get to them. Minor point but it would be nice to be able to share them! I suppose you could make note of all the settings numbers and share that info...

Probably the easiest way to share the settings for now would be a screen dump.

A very appealing result of the fract filter use on this image - very dramatic!

Ken. Very cool Fractalius work. I love the colors and the abstract look.
