    Default Juvenile Green Heron

I took this at Andrew Hayden Park in Ottawa, Canada this summer. First time I've ever seen one. He let me follow him for 1/2 hr along the rivers edge.

    Hi Jim,

Neat shot. I like how you caught the tongue out. The clarity is excellent. On my monitor I lose a little of the shadow detail on the back part of the wing. I'd be tempted to try to de-emphasize the bg by darkening it significantly. I would maybe also try to darken the rock he is standing on. Just my 2 bits. Good work.

The hair is classic! Wonderful light and detail on the chest. Would love to a more blurred background.

The sharpness, and HA are great, the light is good too. The rocks in the FG and BG are bummers.

Thanks for the critique...nothing I could really do about the FG and BG but I have to agree with your comments.
    Thanks
    Jim
