    Default Long-tailed Duck

After the snowstorm, I went to Barnegat Light yesterday afternoon. The jetty was not too icy. The waves were pretty impressive but I didn't get wet this time. :) This Long-tailed Duck flew by quite closely and it is about 85% of full frame. The Mark IV worked really well tracking these fast-flying birds despite the waves.

Impressive. Nice looking bird. I like the eye contact and the wing position.

Are you using the 45 points in the C.Fn III-8? I am currently experimenting with tracking sensitivity at lowest and that is giving better results.

    Cheers,

Thanks, Sabyasachi! I use central sensor with surrounding AF points most of the time. As for tracking sensitivity, I switch between slow and the one between normal and slow.

Great flight pose, nice details overall, you got the tail really nice too.
That Mark IV seems to serve you very well.

You've nailed this one Axel. Out of all your series of these guys, I rate this one tops so far. Great wing position, and just love the light quality here. Sharp, and the duck is sperated from the BG so well. Congrats.

Very nice, almost top side view of one of my favourite duck species.
Love the gentle blurring of the right wing tip. Well done.

    Hi Axel

That is an excellent flight phot with great angle on the bird and wing position. Exposure is spot on although I have come to expect nothing less from your images and all this combined with a pleasing background. I have not really had chance to test my mk IV for BIF, apart from a quick go with some seagulls and feral pigeons with which it seemed to perform very well indeed.

    Cheers
