When you can't find Eagles on Saturday, shot the next best thing. :)
Haven't decided what to do with the BG branch

Hi Bill,
I like the diagonal perch and you have excellent sharpness with a good pose. What I'm noticing here is a problem that I frequently encounter with my own digital images and that is blown out oversaturated reds. In the upper part of the breast and the mandibular area the reds seem all smushed (technical word) together. Maybe someone else can tell you a better solution but for me it means going into the red channel and desaturating until all of the detail is retained. I hope that is helpful.
Dan
Thanks Dan. I thought it looked pretty good but I will knock it down a little and take a look. Thanks for the help. I see your from S.C. so I know you know Cardinals. This guy was pretty red in the light but I will check it out.
The reds look pretty good to me. I know I have trouble with the reds being oversaturated.
I went to H/S, red channel and dropped Sat 1 point and took lightness up +3. I was unwilling to give up too much red but I do believe it improved acutence between the chest feathers. It gave some a blond tint to them and visually seperated some.
If that isn't what you had in mind, feel free to run a rework on it.
Thanks
I think the re-post looks fine. Too bad about the oof branch behind. It hurts what could be a beautiful image of a great looking subject.
Vote #1 for the brush wacker. Thanks Joe.
I ended back up with door #1 on the color after putting them side by side on my monitor. The OOF needs one more vote and it's gone. :D
I'm starting to really hate BG brush. :)
I thought this looked great originally, but now it's really stunning. You did a beautiful job of chopping down that tree behind him! As to the reds, on my monitor the original post looked very good with no loss of detail.
Hi Bill,
Well so much for my ability to critique.:o I'm on the road and using my laptop which is not calibrated. The reds may have been fine but didn't look it on my screen. Sorry. The rework looks great. Excellent pp!
Dan
Thanks Jean. I think I did save it to a usable image. My wife is from Boston and told me I should listen to you. :)
Dan, I appreciate your input. Things like color give most of us fits, especialy reds and MAGENTAS :D. A lot of this is so subjective it's always good to have other eyes on this stuff.
Bill,
You should always listen to your wife! Especially if she's from Boston. lol
I sometimes hesitate to comment on the pics here because I know monitors can show things differently. I recently did some adjustments on mine, and the colors are much truer. Finally, when I print something, it looks the same as it did on the monitor.
I should always listen to my wife?????
I am soooooo confused - I got it Julie, I was kidding back. Thanks for the confu- err, chuckle. :D
