From our chilly trip to Florida over Christmas. This was from the Sanibel Fishing pier where the wind was gusting and people were wearing winter coats. (I wish I had mine!) Only got two keepers from that location, this is one of them.

    Iso 400, f8, 1/1600 Sunny 16
    Canon mk3, 500 mm f4 + 1.4tc + tripod
Converted in ACR, opened up shadows on underwing, slight crop, sharpened.

Well done, Grace. Good detail, and I like the diagonal composition. Wish I were on the Sanibel Pier today.

    Hi Grace,

Great sharpness and underwing detail here. I like the composition overall but I'd like to see a little more canvas on the right.

Grace I like the wing angle and the eye contact. I'll echo Dan's comment about a touch more space in front of the bird.

Hi Grace - Sweet pelican shot with a perfect sky in the background. I've been working with white pelicans so much lately, I feel like the Jane Goodall.....of pelicans! Thanks for the great image.

Sharp. EXP perfect. The bird is a bit on the ratty side and the head is angled slightly away. Where are you guys? Will you be at the GTG?

Thanks for the comments everyone. Artie, we're all on LI. Work commitments make it impossible for most of us to travel this time of year. Have fun, we'll be thinking about you and wishing we were there.
