Love this one, Ofer. The running pose that you've captured and the splashing water is captivating, exposure is perfect with tons of details in the blacks. The bit of motion blur in the wings adds alot.

    Hi Ofer,

This is captivating for several reasons. First the frozen action is excellent--with the midair water droplets and neither foot touching the water. The blurred blue backdrop is perfect for this bird. Lastly, the excellent gradation of black to gray in the body is something we all strive for. Can you tell that I like it?

Ofer I love everything about this image: exposure, sharpness, feed, water drops and blurred wingtips.

The feet of this bird are something exceptional, they seem big for this fellow. Very nice light and the red eye pops really well. Great timing.

Wow, the first time I saw this image was in On feathered wings: birds in flight and fell in love with the image instantly :D Love the capture angle, the pose, the sharpness, the fine details, the background and the water droplets. Excellent image.

    Hi Ofer

Excellent timing on a much neglected species but one that can provide plenty of action photos. Great pose and exposure and the slight blur of the wings tips adds to the general movement. I like it :)

    Cheers

Having a lot of these guys at most of our birding spots, and witnessing this on many an occasion, you have certainly nailed the action here. Good work on the exposure too. Sharp, and love the trailing droplets.
