    Default Red-breasted Nuthatch

From today in my new back yard. We are in the multi year process of building a new home in Vermont. Baited with Black Oil Sunflower Seed. 1Dmk3 on 500f4, handheld at iso 400, f7.1 at 1/1000 in manual.
Hoping to be around a bit more as I learn the Vermont Birding areas beyond the feeder!! Bob

    Bob:

Well exposed, nice angle in frame, like the stretched out foot.

Interesting perch, might consider toning down the brightest areas a bit.
In a perfect world, I would wish that the background was a bit lighter behind the bill, so that it would stand out more.

Good luck with your new home. always exciting/nerve racking, etc. :D

The bird look awesome - sharp, great detail, pose and eye contact. Great is not the strongest part in this image but overall a nice shot.

Beautiful little fellow, with nice color and detail. We have lots of White-breasted at our feeder, but although I hear them sometimes in the woods we never see the Red-breasted. Nicely captured!

I like your image alot, Bob. Altho the perch is a bit large for such a small bird, it has interest. I would agree that toning it down a bit would help. The eye contact from the bird is real nice. Good luck with the home, keep taking some time out for photographs like this one!
