    Default Rhino and calf

When I visit the Pilanesberg Game reserve, my main objective is the birdlife. When I do get an opportunity to capture an interesting sighting, I try and get the most out of it. I waited for the calf to separate from the parent, and this is what I achieved. These guys were at the edge of the dam, down for a drink. Taken last year.

    Hi Stuart,
Like your choice of a pano comp here and you know I really like the layers of different colored grasses. I also like the wedge of yellow grass at the bottom right and how it sort of opens up on the bottom left with the patch of green. The light is bright but doesn't have that harsh look at all. Nicely done.

Magnificent specimen of this White Rhino female Stuart, with just enough separation for the calf. Comp and pano crop suit also.

This would have been a lot better if Mum had picked her head up, but I know all to well how rearely a Rhino stops feeding.

    Hi Stuart,

I also like the pano and to have mother and calf in the same image is special. I might emphasise the pano even more by taking some off the top and bottom.

Agree with the pano crop, and I like the layering of the grasses along with the pano crop. The light is on the hard side - a slight reverse s-curve and increased saturation might improve.
