This little bird has been one of my targets for some time but it was until last week that I was able to get a shot of this active fellow. This bird recalls a flycatcher for its coloration but is a flower piercer, that means that likes to ''steal'' the nectar from flowers by opening holes on the base of the flower and do not pollinate it. A smart bird indeed.

This bird belongs to the genus Incertae Sedis, Coereba flaveola (Bananaquit)

    Juan Carlos:

Well exposed, sharp, nice pose, interesting story, well scaled perch.
A bit more DOf would have been nice, but you obviously were up against the low light with the numbers you posted, so nice job!

    Cheers

I like the soft light, look-back pose and BG. It looks as if there is a bit of motion blur and I would run NR on the BG, it looks somewhat blotchy.

I like the pose, perch, and comp...but to me it looks like 1/50s. got the better of you as the face/head is smoothed out possibly due to subject motion blur. Thanks for the additional info on this fella...smart indeed!!
