    Judy:

I like the pose, clouds in background. I know you want to maintain the evening feel, but I might be tempted to try a version 1/2 stop brighter, perhaps selectively on the bird, while keeping the darker clouds.

Fun to see the different coloration on the juvenile.

    Cheers

I sure like the the nice clean bird and dramatic clouds in bg. Along with a bit lighter bird, I might also go fro even more dramatic clouds. Dave

Judy, flash would have helped here, keeping the exposure neutral on the sky to keep the colors.
Here, I use Nik Reflector to lighten the bird and Darken/lighten to darken the borders and increase SAT a bit.
    Hope you like it.

Hi Judy, I like this image with the beautiful light and lovely pose. Played with it a bit - here is a repost as an idea. Some levels, colour saturation, selectively working on BG and bird, some fixing the bright areas in the BG. I am sure you can get a far better result working with the RAW file.
Only saw Fabs repost after posting mine....

Excellent BG, wing position and sharpness, getting better with each repost!

Judy, great to see the juvvies, and I like the soft light and warm colours. Both reposts look good to me.

    Hi Judy,

What a great pose with excellent technicals. I think I'd vote for somewhere in between the original and the reposts.

Thanks Fab and Ofer. Great to see the different looks with the different approaches to editing. Really appreciate your in put. As yet Fab I do not have the nik software. Must look into it. Again many thanks.

Peaceful is what comes to mind when I view the photograph. The soft muted colors/lighting of the background are beautiful.
Can't decide between the repost by Fabs or your original. I liked the darker image of the bird except for the loss of detail of the forward wing - so the lightening of the image by Fabs works in that area.
As an aside - NIK software is great.

You have a wonderful (painterly) BG here! I have to go with Ofer's repost b/c the bird's head appears to have more details and to be more accurate as far as color.
