    Default Poised Eagle

I shot this a couple weekends ago in a place called Brackendale, BC. It's fairly famous for it's eagle population in the winter, so when my friend and I arrived, albeit late in the eagle season, there were still lots of opportunities around.

It was raining all day so I had my Sigma 150-500 covered in the Kata, as well as my camera, but that didn't deter me too much. Still managed to get this! It's definitely my best Eagle shot to date. While I would love a much blurrier background, that would involve a much more expensive lens than I am willing to buy right now.

Anyways, curious what others think of this shot. Any comments?

    Aiden:

An imperious pose, nice feet. I can live with the BG, perhaps with a little tweaking, but for me the very busy foreground undermines the impact of the image. I do appreciate how hard it is to get clean shots at raptors.

    cheers

I like the pose and eye contact. The branches in front of the bird are distracting and I would try to get more details in the blacks.

Inclusion of habitat is nice but in this case the branches have killed the image.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I echo your feelings about the BG too, but hey you take what you can get! The fact that he sat still and posed for me I was just happy to have him there.
