    Default Copycatting Fabs

    Attached Images Attached Images

After viewing Fabs egret post which she took a drab sky and made it look beautiful I figured I would have a go at figuring out how to do it. I am not the artsy type and this would have never occurred to me.

I took this eagle yesterday and was going to delete it until I saw what she had done. The sky originally was white and gray.

A eagle probably does not lends itself to these soft "girly" colors as would some other birds but it gives me hope for some files I have stashed and those in the future.

I am aware I didn't approach Fabs proficiency but I am bored and killing time.

    This is sooo cool, Mike!!!
I have to tell you you did a pretty good job and you can work with blues too. One thing to keep in mind, the larger the file, the smaller the clouds will look.

We may have started something ;)

Looking forward to meeting you on Sunday.

Another great shot with a pink BG. I like the wing pose and the head turn. A really great Bald Eagle shot!

    Nice processing work,
But what happened to the eagle's head, where is it...? :)

Wing position and head turn are great. It looks as if you are above the bird. Good detail in the wings. But I also wonder where the top of his head went. Somewhere on the cutting floor, I guess.

I noticed that right off the bat when I first viewed it yesterday. Just looked at the raw file again and it appears the top of the head is not there. It is either a result of me blowing the whites on his head against a white sky or the angle as it is presented creating that illusion.

I never claimed it was a bona fide keeper as I was going to delete it until I saw Fabs post :).

The whites don't look blown to me. It appears that the head turn he made just for you has caused this odd look. I do love the eagle's position here. You have a nice topside view and movement in the wings.

I think your BG is fun but I would like to see the pattern varied a little bit rather than the same pattern throughout the entire image. I think it would look more natural. It's nice to see you trying something new.

The Eagle is great, but the background not so much! Pink? Doesn't suit an Eagle whatsoever IMO.

Mike, impressive banking angle showing the wingspread, and like the look on the eagles face. I would like to maybe see the BG a tad darker.
