Well...not really a cabin. This window is actually on the barn, but after placing a photo of woods in the window as a reflection I felt it looked like it could be a cabin window. ;) I toyed with the idea of adding a wren on the window sill, but eventually decided that the image was complete without it. Any C&C would be most appreciated!
Workflow was as follows:
Converted image to B&W using channel mixer
Applied a texture overlay that I created using Hard Light blending mode at 15% opacity
Applied another texture overlay that I created using Lighten at 24% opacity and then applied the same texture again this time using Multiply at 100% opacity
Modified color toning using selective color
Some dodging, burning, levels, and curves to further fine tune the tones
Selected the window area and then added the woods photo with that selection as the layer mask
Reduced the opacity of the woods photo to 54%
Darkened the window area a bit
Cropped a little and darkened the edges a bit using inner shadow layer style
Christopher, Very nicely done. Your eye for aging images is great. I like the tones and the view. The tiny sliver on the bottom I would crop out. TFS Your workflow:)
