    Last year, I didn't get to do much photography, but I did meet my goal of some nice wood duck images. For some reason, I'm partial to this one for the females.

    There was a lot of oof gunk in the water between me and the subject, so I've done a lot of clone & spot work there. There is still more to go I'm sure.

    Nice COMP, nice posture, good job on the cleanup. Whites look a bit hot and thus the bird a bit contrasty--a result of the high sun..

    Nice pose, water color and eye contact. Looks like a young bird. I might try a tighter crop.

    I'm with Axel and crop a bit !!!! Really nice image Just soft light would have made it better !!! Love it Jim !!!!

    Nice water color and alert position on the girl. A bit tighter maybe?

    Hi Jim,

    I like the birds position and head angle. I also like the color of the water. The light seems a bit harsh and the bird seems a bit small in the frame.

    Jim I had ask you if you knew what the woodpecker was in your last post :confused:do you or anyone know what it is for sure ??? I would go along with the above advice on this one

    I was sure I answered you over there, but I don't see the post . . .

    Anyway, I believe it is a yellow bellied sapsucker from a quick check of my Sibley guide.
