    Fabs:

I knew this was yours when I saw the thumbnail. The pose/background and eye direction gives this almost an angelic look. Funny how photos strike us sometimes.

A bit of noise creeping into the darker areas under the wings. Not bad for this ISO:)

    Cheers

    Randy

The pink sky and white bird makes it look like a Valentine's card.

I have to say that I really like what you have done with this capture. You appear to have turned a run-of-the-mill picture into something special. Although I prefer doing very little PS and keeping my bird photographs as natural as possible, I appreciate your skills and what you have accomplished here.

I echo what the others have said including turning a drab sky into something thats truly picturesque. I do wish the near wing was as much in focus as the rest of the egret but thats splitting hairs.

I have been shooting in drab skies :( frequently. Can you explain here or write a short tutorial how you managed this effect and place it in tutorial section?

Looks nice Fabs. Is that sky exeggareted a little with the effect? Just asking, please don't shoot me. :) I think overall the comp is great and there are good details considering the ISO. TFS ;)

You made another stunning image from conditions not ideal and a very common subject. The mark of a true artist/photographer:D

    Howdy Fabs....

Love the pink sky relative to the bird and especially in contrast to the green on the face.

Would have liked a bit more DOF to catch that right wing tip, but you know what?

Nobody other than us picky photographer types would ever pick that up :)

Lovely flying angle, and great work on the ISO Fabs. Looking forward to your workflow on the sky.

What a beautiful shot. The background is amazing!
Also, perfect wing pose and composition. One of the best shots of this species I've seen.
